Tee Pee Fun

DSC_1709.JPG

While researching Tee Pee’s I fell in love with this one using Riley Blake’s Wheels fabric range and we just had to have it.  It is from Little Bird Boutique an amazing Esty shop.  Fran the owner is the most amazing fabric artist.  She sources only the very best of fabrics and has an amazing range of children’s essentials.  Ben has fallen in love with his Tee Pee.  It has been a HUGE hit!!

Welcome home Honda and Penny-Penny

Since we live on a “property” now, we thought that we ought to put on some “stock”.  We now have two chickens named Honda and Penny Penny.

First we had to assemble the chook pen.  All hands on deck – thanks to Grandad George and Nanny.  We also purchased our feed and water containers.

Play pen !

Second job was site preparation.  We fenced off a corner about 20m x  10m.  Thanks to Grandad and Gamma for lending a hand.

Carefully selected site. Chook yard still under construction.

Ready to go.

Then, we just added chickens.  Buying chickens is apparently like buying eggs, prepackaged in a convenience box.  We got our red hens from Stocks Produce, just around the corner from our place and the chook pen from Risson Produce in Ipswich.  We are also going to add four Silkies when we can find some.

This is how you buy chooks these days. In a box from the supermarket !

Honda and Penny Penny

Honda (I think?)

Ben loves them, and just wants to help.

All done, Penny Penny is upstairs and Honda is in the basement.

Now with a little love and care we wait for the magical first egg.  Ben checks everyday. So far the reports have been “No Eggs Mum, just poo!”

Ahhh Quiet….

I was cooking dinner this week thinking how organised I was for a change when I thought Ben seemed a little bit toooo quiet.  I walked down the hall to discover Ben washing his hands.  There was water up the wall, on the floor and the addition of the toilet roll added  for lots more fun.  Ben was having the best time ever! Oh yeah, he lost his pants along the way.  They got wet so he took them off!

Farewell Family Daycare….

to be sorted 077.JPGIt is with a heavy heart that we no longer visit the world’s best Family Daycare Mum every Tuesday.  Trudy has been Ben’s Family Daycare Mum for over a year and she has been fantastic not only for Ben but for me as well.  I first sent Ben to Family Daycare because we didn’t have any family close and he needed that little something that I couldn’t give him.  We struck gold when we met Trudy.  She was referred to me by a mutual friend.  She took us into her home like we were family.  She showed Ben a level of care that was above and beyond what I could have dreamed of.  Ben was no walk in the park for Trudy.  He cried every time I dropped him off for what seemed forever.  But Trudy never scowled she would just scoop him up and shared her heart.  At Trudy’s Ben painted, played, glued, sang, read, ran, climbed, jumped and laughed.   Ben fell in love with Trudy and her two beautiful girls Eva and Mae and his family daycare sister Ella.  Trudy now has a wonderful new addition to her family – baby Oliver.  Her hands are a little fuller these days hence our departure.  Thanks Trudy you made such a difference in Ben’s life xoxo

Grandchester Model Live Steam Trains

Today Ben and I visited the model trains at Grandchester near Ipswich.
What a great little outing for the kids (and big kids).
Here is a little movie of Ben getting right into the spirit, he really loved the whole experience.
