Mummy’s Day

I was particularly spoilt this year. My beautiful husband and little man definitely looked after me. There was an extra early gift in a little green box with white ribbon. It sparkled! There was also a large gift that came in the mail the week before the special day.

And in YELLOW!!! Hello LOVELY KitchenAid!!! I know there is an unwritten rule that kitchen appliances are a big NO-NO for Mothers Day, Birthdays and Christmas….. but surely this is an exception?

Another lovely surprise came from Ben on Mother’s Day morning. His hand made gift from Pre-Prep. A portrait of me and reasons why he loves me. And just to share…… he loves me because I make pancakes, play Hide and Seek, Trouble and Lego! Love you right back little guy! I LOVE IT!!!

I also got breakfast in bed. Ben insisted on having breakfast in bed with me. That was interesting. I am so glad he was sitting on Daddy’s side…… crumbs everywhere!!! My breakfast was two slices of raisin toast (on a plastic Lightning McQueen plate) and a cup of my pretend coffee. I felt like a queen!

After breaky it was off to Grasshopper Soccer with my boys. It was Ben’s first day with his uniform and I didn’t want to miss that. He was so excited. He told me he was going to sleep in it every night. He loves it. I think he loves the uniform more than the soccer but I am sure that will change.

After soccer if was off to Bon Laneway. The best coffee in Ipswich or hot chocolate as I don’t drink coffee (gasp….. I know. I’m a freak!!). Yummmm!!!

In all seriousness, I thought I would struggle with Mothers Day this year. But that was not the case. I have had a bit of a rough time of it in the last year. Nothing earth shattering…… well maybe not for others but it did rock my world and not in a good way. Mummy’s day could have been a time for me to sit and wallow about what could have been but instead I chose to be present in the life I have. I chose to celebrate being a Mum to my little man, to count my many blessings and to move forward!

Oh yeah….. I have been a absent in the blogging world for a while but I think it is time for a return……….

Oopsie Daisy…… again!!

I thought I had learnt my lesson with the pears – but apparently not. I really must take more care with my quantities when ordering my groceries online. What to do with the 3kg of celery pieces that arrived this morning (I wanted 300grams).

That is a lot of Ants on a Log!! (celery, peanut butter and sultanas)

Celebrate!!!

It was a Lego fifth birthday party to remember!!! I didn’t know it was possible to have so much fun at a fifth birthday party. I had attempted to keep it simple this year………. me keep it simple…… who was I kidding!! Ben was surrounded by his family and friends.

He had the best day EVER!!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Ben’s day so magical. We are continually overwhelmed by how awesome our family and friends are xoxo.

FIVE

Our little one is not so little anymore. This week Ben turned five….. WOW! I can’t believe he is FIVE! I used to be able to scoop him up and hold him in my arms. But now he has these long skinny legs! Five years seems to have past in a blink of an eye.

He is always making me laugh (well…… either that or driving me crazy!). Here are a few bits that have melted my heart or made me giggle in the last few days:

1. “Muuuum, my teeth have turbo boost. I can eat my dinner super fast!”

2. “Is there gravity in Heaven?”

3. “How do you put your teeth back in” said Ben. “What do you mean……like false teeth?” said Mum. “No… when my teeth fall out. How do I get the knew ones put in?” said Ben.

4. Ben and I were playing ‘I spy with my little eye’. Ben says “I spy with my little eye something that is beautiful”. I named a few items…. flowers, gardens. Ben yells “Nooooo my Mummy!!”. (His a charmer)

5. “Seriously Mum, I don’t think that is right!”

Love you heaps Ben!!

A 1st and a 50th

There has been much celebrate in the Lattimore family of late. Baby Grace (our niece) turned one and Jude and George (Andrew’s parents) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Gracie celebrated her special day with family and friends. It was a spectacular party at home. Ben loved loved LOVED the water bomb game!! The weather was glorious after the days of rain we had had previous. It was a pretty special day!

Jude and George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. What an achievement!

It was so lovely to have all the family there – all the boys, their wives and the six grandchildren.

This photo is missing Gracie. We did try and get a shot with the six kids but …… here it is! I’ll say no more!!!
