Racing with Charlotte

DSC_0325.JPGOnce again I have to thank our wonderful neighbours the Durrington Family.  Charlotte comes to play with Ben at least a couple of times a week and I enjoy having a cuppa with Di and Dave.  It makes for a relaxed afternoon.   Ryan and Finlay will come over for a  chat but playing with a two year old…… nah that’s not cool.  We now have a hole in the fence so it is easy to move between the houses.

Here are some pics from a couple of weeks ago when Ben and Charlotte played racing cars.  This car is fabulous.  It was bought for Tom’s first birthday.  Tom turns seven this year!  Ben loves it and plays in it most days.   Ben is having the time of his life….. just look at the face.   I’m sure Charlotte is having a pretty great time as well. Oh and you gotta love the helmet!!   If only their excitement could be bottled!!!

Family xoxo

FAMILY, n.-The ones you live with, laugh with and love.

Ben-Maggie-Tom-Hugo.jpgHow do children know who there extended family are?  It must be innate or maybe they sense a feeling of belonging.  Ben is pretty reserved around people he doesn’t know or see often.  But not this weekend as  I watched him play and interact with his Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, and Grandparents.   Ben just adored having his cousins Tom and Maggie stay on the weekend.  It was magic to watch them play together.  Andrew and I just loved the house being full with family.

Our house was a pit stop on the way to a very special event.  All that could make it were heading to  Cousin Hugo’s first birthday.  It was wonderful to be able to share in Al, Claire and Hugo’s special day.  We enjoyed catching up with family and friends new and old.  Ben certainly enjoyed the party.  He ate  the entire bowl of cheezels by himself!   Hugo was an absolute delight and had enough cuddles to go around for everyone.  Happy Birthday Little Man – we hope to celebrate many more with you. xoxox

Holiday continued……..

We headed to Byron Bay today. We saw a whale from the Lighthouse lookout, did a spot of shopping, ate the best pancakes from Twisted Sista, went for a dip at the beach and finished with gelato. Ended the day with another dip on what seems to be our private patrolled beach. Just have to say…….. we are loving this winter weather!

What Memories Are Made Of

We are finally here….. at Kingscliff Peppers Salt. We have been preparing Ben for our holidaty for the last few weeks. He has been talking about the beach but hasn’t seemed that excited about it until today. He was so keen to get in the car this morning. While we finished packing he spent most of his time hovering at the door.

We are finally here….. at Kingscliff Peppers Salt.  We have been preparing Ben for our holiday for the last few weeks.  He has been talking about the beach but hasn’t seemed that excited about it until today.  He was so keen to get in the car this morning.  While we finished packing he spent most of his time hovering at the door.

Last time we took Ben to the beach he wasn’t keen on it (The Beach #2, The Beach #1).  But this time……………it was amazing.  It was late afternoon and the sun was low in the sky making the water looked almost pink.  We had a strip of beach over two hundred meters long  just for us.  Ben was trembling with excitement.  He held my hand tightly as the water touched our toes.  His  smile was enormous and he soon let go of my hand  and went running in announcing ‘BEACH!!’ with great excitement.  He didn’t seem to mind that he was still fully dressed  and the water was ….. well freezing!    Unfortunately we had no cameras or phones with us.  Luckily we have the memory.  It was one of those unforgettable moments.  I of course shed a little tear.  Simple things really make the best memories.
