Really Google Maps? Ok so let me start by saying I have NO ZERO NADA sense of direction……absolutely none, my driving skills in Bangkok are of a beginner and I mostly drive close to home. Well today was an adventure!!! I picked Ben up from school and the traffic was heavy on the way home so I consulted google maps for an alternative route. Andrew always uses the back streets so I thought I’d give it a go. I started on back streets, then somehow ended up on the freeway, paid a toll, existed that freeway to go on another freeway and pay another toll. Drove some more back streets and got tooted a lot. Rang Andrew who laughed at me and was no help at all. Paid another toll, made some very questionable uturns (one on Asok) and drove some more back streets with tight corners. We made it home, had an adventure and it only took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I can’t totally blame google maps. There may have been some driver error and now I’m not so scared of the freeways!
