Previous Previous post: We are staying here in Home Phutoey tonight. This is where Sir Edward Weary Dunlop's ashes were scattered. He met Khun Kanit (the past owner) when Weary was traveling past on the river. Weary and his travelers stopped in hope of buying some beer. They didn't buy beer but they were invited to join Khun Kanit and his family for a beer. The two became good friends. Every year on the eve of ANZAC DAY Khun Kanit families host a dinner in Weary's memory. Sir Edward Weary Dunlop was the amazing surgeon who amputated my grandfathers leg in CHANGI POW CAMP.
